Should I be offended?

Dear Blog,
I want to tell you two true storied that have happened recently.
Story one: Last weekend Missy and I went to Kyoto to get some delicious sushi. We had this sweet little Japanese waitress. As we do, we ordered quite a bit of food for two people. This tiny waitress was shocked by how much. Every time she would walk by she would tell us "Take your time" or "A lot of food." It was a little embarrassing but hilarious.
Story two: Tonight I went out with Missy and Sara to The Cheesecake Factory. I ordered a Coca Cola Classic. A guy (not our server) passed by our table and saw my empty glass and offered to refill it. I told him I was having Coke. He asked three times if I wanted Diet Coke. Not for this girl.
So, now I'm wondering if I should take the hint and not eat so much and drink diet soda. But guess what, not gonna happen. Diet soda is disgusting and I love food! I just hope that servers will start minding there own biznass.
Love,
Melanie

The measure of love isn't loss.

Dear Blog,
Whelp. This last weekend was a good one. On Friday, the Wellington Girls pulled off another awesome party. We had a tree themed combo-birthday party for Jen and Veronica. Treats included Red Vines(vines= trees of the jungle), Andes mints (green & brown), Pretzels (twigs), Milk Duds (looks like deer poop, deer eat leaves), Cheese and jam dip in the shape of a tree, and a Yule Log made to look like an Aspen tree. And in case you're wondering, yes, there is a difference between a Yule Log and a eulogy. We had some awesome games planned but we ran into one minor snag... the power went out. We had a party with no lights or music. So we lit some candles and finally used our outdoor fireplace. It turned out fun anyway. At least I think so. I'll try to post some photos when I get this blog thing figured out.

Saturday I worked all day and then joined Missy, Jen, Michael, and Taryn for Cirque de la Symphonie. It was amazing. Crazy Circus performers backed by the beautiful music of the Symphony. Wowzah!

This week hasn't been so great. Monday was a baddie that ended with me locking my keys in my car up Mill Creek Canyon. Luckily my buddy Clinton has AAA and was nice enough to let me use it. Tuesday I started feeling fluish. Now it's Thursday and I'm still feeling quite ill. Not so fun. I did get to hang out with my mom, sister and nephews for a bit yesterday. Even though our trip to the store closing of Ben Franklin Craft was unsuccessful, I still enjoyed the trip.
That's all I have for now. Lates!
Love, Melanie

This could be the start of a beautiful friendship.

Dear Blog,
I guess today is as good a day as any to start writing to you. Since this is our first contact maybe I'll tell you a little about myself. I like good movies and I hate bad movies. Dinner is one of my favorite meals of the day. That's pretty much it.
I think I'll start this off right by taking a page from my boyfriend Jimmy Fallon's book and write some thank you notes.

Thank you Math Professor for using sports metaphors while explaining Algebra. I really appreciate you using something I don't understand to explain something else I don't understand. Super Helpful. Thank you.

Thank you screaming baby at work for easing my pregnancy envy (experienced just 20 minutes before) in no time flat. Thank you.

Thank you UDOT for closing the exit nearest my house. I was really liking the I-80 construction but now I'm loving it! Thank you.

I think that's good for today. Well, bLOG, I hope that we can be good friends.
Love, Melanie
